FrogRev's feline companions are an integral (not in the mathematics sense) part of her health care team.
Fridays are for cat blogging, so it's appropriate to recognize and introduce the first team member, Kage, which is pronounced "Ka' gay." That's Japanese for "shadow." He got that name because the first cat who shared our home was delivered to us by a woman who was a missionary in Japan, and we wanted to stick with the Japanese naming theme. And because he followed our first cat around wherever she went. Like a shadow, see? Here he is, creating his own shadow on a recent (and rare) sunny day in southern New England.

Kage's principal duties are:
- hiding from guests and strange noises
- sleeping under the tablecloth, no matter how hot it is inside
- keeping sunbeams company when he ventures out from the tablecloth
- trying to wake everyone before the sun rises, which is now before 5:00 a.m.
- scratching the furniture when he knows he's not supposed to
- shedding
- irritating the other two felines in the house
- visiting his human companions for purring-in-lap sessions just about every day
We'll post more photos of the feline health team as the Fridays roll on if this first attempt at posting photos works.

"We can endure much more than we think we can; all human experience testifies to that. All we need to do is learn not to be afraid of pain. Grit your teeth and let it hurt. Don't deny it, don't be overwhelmed by it. It will not last forever. One day, the pain will be gone and you will still be there." - Harold Kushner, "When All You've Ever Wanted Isn't Enough."
